Risk training part 1, often called Riskettan MC, is a mandatory theoretical training for anyone who is going to get a driving license for A1 (light motorcycle), A2 (medium motorcycle) or A (heavy motorcycle). The training aims to increase awareness of the specific risks of riding a motorcycle and how drivers can reduce them.

The training lasts at least 180 minutes excluding breaks and is carried out in a group. Active participation and reflection are central parts of the course.
Risk training is valid for a maximum of five years or until you have obtained your driving license. If you have already completed Riskettan for a lower qualification (e.g. A1) and want to upgrade to a higher qualification (A2 or A) within the validity period, you do not need to complete the training again.
To obtain a motorcycle driving license, you must complete both Risk training part 1 (Riskettan MC) and Risk training part 2 (Risktvåan MC):
Riskettan MC: A theoretical training that addresses alcohol, drugs, fatigue and other risky behaviors.
Risktvåan MC: A practical training that focuses on speed, safety and driving under different road and weather conditions.
Both parts are mandatory and must be completed before you can take the knowledge and driving test.
