Risk training part 2 – Slippery track

Slippery track, or Risk training part 2, is a mandatory practical training for those taking a B driving license. The training gives you experience of driving in risky situations, especially on slippery surfaces, and helps you understand how speed and road conditions affect your driving.

What is Slippery Track?

Slippery Track is a training course where you get to experience how the car reacts in different risky situations. You learn to handle skids, understand braking distances and adapt your driving to road conditions and speed. The goal is for you to become a safer driver and gain a better understanding of the risks in traffic.

What does Risk Training Part 2 contain?

During the training, you get practical experience of:

  • Driving on slippery surfaces – Experience how the car reacts when skidding and learn to handle skids.
  • The impact of speed – Understand how different speeds affect the car's stability and braking distance.
  • Safety aspects – How the condition of the tires, seat belts and the car's technology affect road safety.
  • Risk awareness – Reflect on your own behavior and how you can reduce the risks as a driver.

When should I complete the Slippery Track?

It is recommended that you complete the Slippery Track when you have good driving skills. Then you will get the most out of the practical exercises.

Both Risk Training Part 1 (Riskettan) and Risk Training Part 2 (Slippery Track) must be completed and valid before you can book the knowledge test and driving test at Trafikverket.

The difference between Risk Training Part 1 and Part 2

  • Risk Training Part 1 (Riskettan) – A theoretical training that deals with risky behaviors, alcohol, drugs and fatigue in traffic.
  • Risk Training Part 2 (Slippery Track) – A practical training where you get to drive on slippery surfaces and experience risky situations in a controlled environment.

Both training courses are mandatory and give you a broad understanding of the risks in traffic.
