What is the required authorisation to drive a car with a heavy trailer?

To drive a car with a heavy trailer, a driver's license with a BE license is required. Heavy trailer means all trailers that weigh more than 750 kg, but less than 3,500 kg.

For BE qualification, the following is required:

• You must have a valid Swedish driver's license with a B license
• You must have a driver's license permit, if your driver's license permit from when you took the B driver's license is valid, you can use it.
• You need to pass a theory test with 60 questions at the Swedish Transport Administration. An approved theory test for a BE driving licence is valid for up to one year.
• You need to pass a driving test.
