Aquaplaning

Aquaplaning is the phenomenon that can occur when driving on a wet road where a film of water forms between the tires and the road surface. The water film stops traction, making it impossible to steer, brake or accelerate the vehicle.

If you experience aquaplaning, you should lift your foot off the throttle and wait for the tires to grip on the road again. You should never stand on the brake or make violent movements with the steering wheel when aquaplaning, instead keep the tires facing forward.
