Class II passenger car

A Class II passenger car (motorhome or lorry) is a passenger car that is permanently equipped with a body that is set up as a living space and equipped with at least permanently mounted seats. In addition to this, it has fixed sleeping areas that can consist of seats that can be converted into sleeping areas, fixed equipment cooking and storage, and tables.

A class II passenger car is usually called a motorhome but can be a truck, if it is a truck, there are special requirements for the driver's license and the vehicle's equipment. These passenger cars follow the same speed limits as other passenger cars.

A class II passenger car with a total weight of less than 3.5 tonnes can be driven with a regular B driving licence. If a class II passenger car weighs more than 3.5 tonnes, a C1 or C driving licence is required. If you want to tow a trailer behind a heavy motorhome, the C1E or CE qualification is required.
