Illusion

What is an illusion? We explain what causes illusions and illusions, and in which situations they are most common to encounter.

An illusion or illusion means that you see something that is not really there. Common examples of visual illusions are, for example, that you mistake a car with a broken headlight for a motorcycle and therefore drive far too close to it, or that a crooked road leads to you misjudging a turn. There is an increased risk of experiencing an illusion or optical illusion if visibility is impaired, for example if it is dark outside or in heavy rain or snowfall.
