Inspection

Inspection means that a vehicle is checked regularly so that its use does not endanger traffic safety. A roadworthiness inspection must be carried out annually for cars that are older than 5 years. New cars should be inspected after 3 years, then after 2 years, and annually thereafter.

Any problems that are discovered need to be fixed and major faults may require a re-inspection to be carried out after a short period of time.

Some of the aspects that are checked during the inspection are:

  • Exterior of the car (Rear-view mirrors, reflectors, lights)
  • Inside of the car (Belts, windows, lights)
  • Bottom of the car (Axles, suspension, tires, steering)
  • Brakes of the car (Strength, function)
  • Environmental check (Emissions)
  • Test drive (Speedometer, washers, horn)
