Registration numbers are the numbers and letters that appear on the car's license plate. From 1973 to 2019, the format was three letters followed by three numbers. Since 2019, the new format applies to three letters followed by two numbers and one final letter (except O). This change increased the number of possible combinations for registration numbers from 12 million to over 38.6 million.
