A single vehicle accident is a traffic accident where only one vehicle is involved, however, several people can be affected in a single accident. Approximately 50% of all drivers who die in single-vehicle fatal accidents are under the influence of alcohol, according to statistics. For example, the cause of the accident may be that the driver has fallen asleep in front of the wheel and driven off the road. In general, the most common causes of single-vehicle accidents are: fatigue, a driver who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or an excessive speed.
