The Winter Tire Act means that you must use winter tires in winter road conditions during the period 1 December - 31 March. Winter tyres are tyres adapted for winter road conditions, usually through rubber compounds and tread patterns that are better suited to road conditions and lower temperatures; They can also be equipped with studs.
You may use studded tires during the period 1 October - 15 April. It is forbidden to use studded tires during the period 16 April - 30 September unless there are or are not expected to be winter road conditions.
