LGF Sign

An LGF sign marks vehicles limited to 45 km/h, alerting others and improving road safety.

What is an LGF sign?
LGF stands for “Långsamtgående fordon,” Swedish for “slow-moving vehicle.” The sign is triangular with a red border and must be placed on the rear of vehicles designed for a maximum speed of 30, 40, or 45 km/h.

Which vehicles must have an LGF sign?

  • Tractors and certain motorized equipment.
  • Three- or four-wheeled mopeds (designed for speeds up to 45 km/h).
  • Other vehicles restricted to 45 km/h or less by regulations or design.

Why is the sign important?

  • Safety: It warns following drivers that the vehicle moves at a lower speed.
  • Clarity: It helps other road users plan safe overtaking and adjust their speed accordingly.

Keeping the LGF sign clean and clearly visible increases safety for both you and other road users.
