Cable routes

What do wire routes mean? We explain what wire roads are, how they are designed and why they are called wire roads.

Wire roads, or 2+1 roads, are roads with alternating one or two lanes in a given direction. In total, there are three lanes, where the two directions take turns having one or two lanes. These roads are called wire roads because the two directions of travel are usually separated by a central barrier consisting of steel wires.
