In order to practice driving and take a driving test, you must have a driving licence permit. This applies regardless of which driving licence qualification you are applying for. A driving licence permit is free of charge and is valid for 5 years. To get a driving licence permit, you must submit a health declaration and an eye certificate to the Swedish Transport Agency. When the Swedish Transport Agency receives your application, they take into account your personal and medical circumstances to make an assessment of whether you are a suitable driver or not.
