Emergency exit

What is an emergency exit? We explain what an emergency exit is and how they are characterised, as well as how they can be relevant to drivers.

An emergency exit is the route you take when you are in danger in the event of, for example, a fire or gas leak and there is no other way out. For example, in the event of a fire, there are emergency exits via windows, and special doors. Emergency exits are usually marked with a sign where a green man is seen running through, or towards an open door. For example, there are emergency exits at regular intervals in most longer car tunnels in Sweden that you can use if the situation is urgent.
