Glossary
Kinetic energy, or kinetic energy, is the mechanical work required to reduce its velocity to zero. The car's kinetic energy is affected by both its weight and its speed. As long as the car's weight or speed does not change, its kinetic energy does not change either.
The car's kinetic energy directly affects the car's braking distance, and it increases squarely as the car's speed increases. If a car increases its speed from 30 km/h to 90 km/h, its kinetic energy, and braking distance, increases ninefold.
