What is a moped? We explain what a moped is by definition and explain what the two classes of moped are and its differences.

Moped is a motor vehicle on two, three or four wheels and is divided into two classes, class I moped and class II moped. Class I mopeds may drive at a maximum of 45 km/h and must have a license plate and traffic insurance, these may not be driven on a cycle path.Class II mopeds may be driven at a maximum of 25 km/h and do not have a license plate, they may be driven on a cycle path unless there is an additional sign that says "no moped".
