Surface learning
Surface learning means that you only memorize the answer to different questions without understanding the underlying reasoning. This is something that you want to avoid as it is better if you learn how, and why, rules should be used, instead of just knowing the answer to different questions.
The opposite of surface learning is called deep learning.
