What is a single accident?

Explore factors behind single-vehicle accidents. Driving fatigue, alcohol and high speed are common reasons. Half of the deaths have alcohol as a contributing factor.

A single vehicle accident is an accident where only one vehicle is involved, but it can still affect several people. If you look at the figures, it is unfortunately the case that half of all those who die in accidents like this have been under the influence of alcohol.

A common reason why accidents like this happen is that the driver has taken the tire at the wheel and gone off the road. But usually, in the vast majority of cases, single-vehicle accidents are due to fatigue, a driver who has been driving on alcohol or drugs, or simply speeding.
