Glossary

Bicycle crossing

A bicycle crossing is a section of road intended for cyclists to cross. It is characterized by white markings on the road, and sometimes special traffic signals for cyclists. The purpose of a bicycle crossing is to provide cyclists with a safe and efficient route to cross busy roads, especially in urban or residential areas.

When approaching a bicycle crossing as a cyclist, it is important to make sure that all vehicles have stopped before crossing. Although vehicles are generally supposed to give way to cyclists on a bicycle crossing, they do not always assume that cyclists are coming. Therefore, it is wise to ensure that the path is clear before proceeding.
