Children in traffic

Children in traffic can mean three different things.

  1. It was partly the name of a state-supported campaign in Sweden in the 80s to help children in traffic.
  2. Children in traffic can also refer to situations where children move around in connection with busy roads. This starts already when they ride in a pram, and then extends until they walk with a parent on the pavement, until they are finally pedestrians or cyclists themselves. Children can often act in an unpredictable way in traffic, so it is important to adapt your driving if there are children nearby.
  3. Finally, children in traffic can refer to children as passengers in various vehicles in traffic. Children travelling as passengers should use the correct child seat, booster seat or booster cushion to ensure that they are as safe as possible. Rear-facing children should never sit in a place where there is a working airbag.
