An electric car is an electric vehicle that is powered by only one or more electric motors. Usually battery electric cars, i.e. vehicles powered by batteries charged from an external electricity supply, usually refer to the electricity grid. The characteristics of a battery electric car largely depend on the batteries.
Since electric cars are considered better for the environment, you can receive a grant in the form of a climate bonus of up to SEK 60,000 when you buy an electric car. You apply for this through the Swedish Transport Agency.
