What is an expressway? Here you will find the definition of an expressway, what rules apply and how they differ from a motorway.
An expressway has many similarities to a motorway, the same rules apply. The difference is that the lanes on a motorway are always separated, which they are not always on an expressway. Furthermore, expressways have a slightly worse standard than motorways so therefore the speed limit is usually a little lower. The on-ramps usually do not have acceleration lanes and then the obligation to give way applies.
