Glossary
Fatal accidents are traffic accidents in which one or more people lose their lives.
In 1997, the Swedish state developed the so-called Vision Zero, which is an effort to ensure that no one loses their life in traffic. This work is the basis for many of the safety aspects that are common on our roads today, things like wire railings, 2+1 roads are relatively simple measures that have reduced the amount of serious accidents and fatalities.
Despite this, hundreds of people die on Swedish roads every year, and about 3/4 of those who die in traffic are men. It is therefore important to drive carefully and to be aware of the risks and hazards on the roads.
