Fuse

Fuses are provided to protect the car's electrical system. Different components and electrical functions have separate fuses and if an overload or short circuit occurs so that the voltage becomes too high, the fuse will trip. This causes the component to de-energize and disconnect from the system.

You can check your car's fuses with a test light. If the fuse is intact, the light on both sides of the fuse will illuminate, and only one side will illuminate on the test light if the fuse is bad.
