Hearing impaired people are people who are affected by a hearing loss. In a hearing loss, the ability to perceive sounds is affected.
A hearing impairment can be located in different places in the ear. Which part of the ear is damaged determines how a person experiences hearing loss and how it can be treated. The cause of hearing loss is usually noise and age changes.
People with hearing impairments are allowed to drive, but may need to focus a little extra on the environment around the vehicle, depending on how their particular hearing loss or hearing impairment affects them.
