Mobile phone

What is a mobile phone? We explain the definition of a mobile phone and also what rules apply to mobile phones in traffic.

A mobile phone is a handheld cordless phone that is connected to a telephone mast in order to make calls, among other things. Mobile and other communication equipment in motorised vehicles may only be used if it does not affect driving in a dangerous way. The driver is not allowed to hold the equipment in his hand, in which case you need to use a so-called hands-free device to handle the mobile phone without using your hands. Many modern cars are equipped with integrated hands-free systems that allow you to answer the phone at the touch of a button on the steering wheel, so you can focus on driving at the same time.
