What do you need to know to pass the theory test?

At the theory test, it is important that you show that you possess the knowledge required to be a safe and secure driver. This test, which is also called the knowledge test, therefore measures your knowledge in these five different areas:

  • Behavior - This segment includes, among other things, how things like medication, stress, drugs, alcohol and fatigue affect you as a driver. Here you also go through how the time of day can affect your driving.
  • Environment - How to drive your car in an environmentally conscious way, as well as how different modes of transport and vehicles have different impacts on the environment.
  • Vehicle Awareness and Manoeuvring - The relationship between your behaviour as a driver and the car's behaviour on the road. How the car works and potential risks that can arise if the car does not work correctly, as well as how road conditions affect driving.
  • Traffic rules - Speed limits, road signs, overtaking, and road markings. As well as things like how much cargo you can carry in the car, how to pack the car correctly and your obligations to other people in traffic.
  • Road safety - How different road conditions affect your driving and the car's behaviour on the road. How to show good judgment and what it means, as well as how to properly adjust your speed according to different factors.
