What happens during the driving test?
It's often nervous before the driving test, but we're here to explain that it's nothing dangerous at all. As long as you have practiced and feel ready for the driving test, it will probably go great.
Below we go through how a driving test is done step-by-step.
- You usually start by carrying out a security check of the car. This means, for example, that you check that the lighting or wiper blades are working properly.
- In the next step, you need to be aware of the risks that any deficiencies can lead to. That is, if you find that something is not working in the first step, you should be able to suggest actions, for example.
- Now it's time to hit the roads! You need to drive for at least 25 minutes according to the driving examiner's instructions. Often you combine driving in cities and on country roads to check that you possess the knowledge for both.
- When the time is over, you will be told on site if you get a passing grade or not. If it should be the case that you fail, just practice further and then try again.
An extra tip is to always be well prepared for the driving test. Even though you may be very eager to get your driving license, it is better to feel completely confident in your driving before booking the driving test, instead of hoping for the best or taking chances.
