Brake light, also known as a stop light, is a red, rearward-pointing lamp with a strong light, which is found on motor vehicles, trailers and trams, and which indicates when the service brake is applied. The purpose is to make it easier for road users behind to perceive braking. Swedish law requires two brake lights on passenger cars.
