Brake servo

Brake servo, also called vacuum servo, is found in most cars and makes it easier to brake. Brake servos help you brake. With the help of the motor, the system amplifies the braking force from the pedal to the wheels. Keep in mind that the brake servos only work when the engine is running. When towing, you will have to press the brake pedal extra hard because the engine is not running. How to check the brake servos:

  • Pump the brake pedal a couple of times when the car is not running.
  • Press and hold the brake pedal and start the car.
  • The servos work properly if the pedal drops slightly at the same time as the engine starts.
