Glossary
The concept of readiness for braking means that the driver is prepared to brake by moving his foot from the accelerator pedal to holding it over the brake pedal. This is done in order to be able to quickly be prepared to brake in more risky situations in traffic. Reaction time is improved and the reaction distance is shorter. If you are ready to brake, your reaction time is significantly shortened and thus the reaction distance. To reduce the risk of an accident, you should therefore always be prepared to brake in risky traffic situations.
