The clutch is the technical name for the system of which the clutch is a part and is located in the engine compartment of the car. A clutch has an average lifespan of 1 km for a gasoline-powered vehicle and 15 km for a diesel engine.
However, there are things you can do to get the longest possible life from the clutch. Like starting softly and always starting in first gear, you should also avoid pressing down on the clutch when not needed as it leads to extra wear.
