What are penal provisions? We explain what is meant by penal provisions and how this can relate to car drivers.

A penal provision is the punishment or punishments that exist for a particular offence. For example, if a driver is driving drunk, this can result in them being convicted of drunk driving or aggravated drunk driving, which have different penalty scales and penal provisions.
