Glossary
Deep learning is a type of learning that results in a more long-lasting knowledge. In short, deep learning means that you have a greater understanding of the knowledge you intend to take in, you can more easily understand and put things in context and not just memorize and later forget. For example, you understand why a certain traffic rule is designed in that specific way. Surface learning is the opposite of deep learning. You learn facts without understanding and therefore quickly forget what you have learned.
