A fine is a punishment that means that the convicted person must pay a sum of money. The most common types are monetary fines, which are a fixed amount, and daily fines, which are proportional to the taxed income.
Day fines are set at a certain number depending on the seriousness of the offence and where the size of each daily fine depends on the financial situation of the fined person.
Money fines are set at a certain lump sum, e.g. it applies to many traffic offences.
