Glossary
A law of nature is a theorem or equation that describes regularities in the course of nature. An example of a law of nature that is relevant when driving is kinetic energy.
The kinetic energy is directly related to the braking distance, the car's kinetic energy is affected by its weight and speed, among other things. The kinetic energy increases squared in relation to the speed changes of the car. For example, a car that increases its speed from 30 km/h to 90 km/h causes the kinetic energy, and thus the braking distance, to increase ninefold.
