Vision Zero is a foundation for Sweden's work to make traffic safer. The long-term goal is that no one dies or is seriously injured in traffic.
This can be seen as an impossible goal, but according to the Swedish Transport Administration, this vision is a more ethical approach and a strategy to further create a more traffic-safe environment. With this strategy, Sweden has succeeded in halving the number of people killed in traffic since 1997.
