A mobile crane is a cable-operated crane mounted on tracked vehicles, or a hydraulically driven crane with telescopic boom mounted on truck carriers, or as self-propelled models. In short, a mobile crane is a crane that can handle heavy lifting up to 300 tons.Mobile cranes are heavy vehicles that exceed the provisions of the Road Traffic Ordinance for normal traffic, therefore a transport exemption is required to operate mobile cranes. The transport exemptions contain a condition that the driver must have a driving licence C.
