Vehicle location on country roads

When driving on country roads, you must place the vehicle on the right in the lane in daylight and under normal conditions. This ensures that any cars behind you can see ahead, and reduces the risk of overtaking.

If it is dark or if there is poor visibility due to bad weather, you should instead place the car closer to the center line. This gives you extra time to spot things on the side of the road and to be able to react if, for example, an animal should run out into the road.
