What do lane arrows mean? We explain what these arrows mean for you as a road user and what is important to keep in mind when you encounter them.
Lane arrows are markings used to indicate the most suitable lane for a given direction before an intersection. If the lane is delimited by a solid lane line, drivers must follow the direction(s) indicated by the arrow. A lane arrow pointing straight ahead indicates that this lane is for you who are going to continue travelling straight ahead. A lane arrow pointing left or right indicates that this lane is for those who plan to turn there. For example, a lane arrow pointing both straight ahead and to the right indicates that you are allowed to drive both straight ahead and turn right there.
