What insurance is mandatory for the car?

Motor liability insurance is the only insurance that, according to the legislation, is mandatory for a motor vehicle. It is therefore not permitted to drive a vehicle on public roads without possessing a valid motor liability insurance.

The person who owns the vehicle and the individual who mainly drives it, is responsible for taking out said insurance. Motor liability insurance covers the costs of personal injuries to the driver, passengers and third parties. In addition, it covers damage that occurs to the property of a third party.

However, damage to the insured vehicle is not covered by motor liability insurance. In order for compensation to be paid for such damages, a separate vehicle damage insurance is required. In the event of incidents that cause damage to your vehicle, but where you are not the cause of the damage, compensation will be based on the individual whose actions caused the damage.
