A pedestrian street is primarily designed for walking, and regular car traffic is normally not allowed. However, there are some exceptions, for example:

  • Emergency transport
  • Deliveries
  • Access to and from residences or hotels

If you must drive on a pedestrian street, the same rules as in a walking speed zone apply:

  • You must keep your speed at walking pace.
  • You must yield to all pedestrians.
  • You may only park in designated areas.

The purpose of a pedestrian street is to provide a safe and calm environment for people on foot, free from through-traffic and high speeds.
