Clamour

To raise the alarm means that you raise the alarm to someone or something, such as a tow truck or emergency vehicle.

For example, you can call 112 if there is an accident or if you witness a fire. In the event that you are involved in a traffic accident, it is your duty to alert the police if someone has been injured in a not insignificant way, or died.

In the event of a traffic accident, you should first and foremost create an idea of what needs to be done first. If there is a risk of fire, you will need to shut down the cars involved, try to help move people out of the danger zone, or use a fire extinguisher if available.

The next step is to help injured people and to warn other road users. This can be done either with a hazard triangle, hazard warning lights or both.

Then you need to alert the police if there is a need, that is, if a person is injured in a not insignificant way or has died.

You also need to alert the police in the following situations:

  • You are involved in a road accident where someone's property has been damaged and you are unable to contact the owner of the property.
  • You hit or damage a road sign or other traffic device.
  • You are involved in a wildlife accident involving any of the following animals: moose, deer, deer, wild boar, bear, wolf, wolverine, lynx, otter, eagle or mouflon sheep
