Fatigue signals

Fatigue signals are signs that you are tired or at risk of falling asleep. You should pay attention to these when driving.

The following are common signs of fatigue:

  • Yawning, dry mouth and feeling cold Illusions
  • and double vision
  • Eyelids feeling heavy or head tilting forward
  • Uneven speed control
  • Difficulty thinking
  • Microsleep

If you feel any of the fatigue signs above, it is important to fix them. Mild fatigue can be remedied by, for example, fresh air, coffee or stretching your legs. If you are particularly tired, however, you may need to stop and take a nap before continuing driving.

When you get tired, the following happens in your body:

  • Your ability to react and your reflexes deteriorate
  • Your ability to think, assess and make decisions deteriorates
  • Your ability to concentrate and your judgment
  • deteriorates
  • Your coordination deteriorates
