Insurance
An insurance policy is basically a contract between you and your insurance company. YOU pay a fee every year and the insurance company gives you an insurance to offer financial protection against damage that may occur.
Vehicle insurance includes, for example, property insurance and personal insurance related to motor vehicles and traffic with such vehicles. In Sweden, such insurance usually includes a number of different elements that cover different types of damages
- Motor insurance - Statutory and mandatory insurance that covers damage to another person's vehicle and personal injuries to others than the person causing the damage.
- Semi-insurance - Contains motor liability insurance as well as protection for fire, glass, legal protection, machine damage and theft.
- Full insurance - Includes half insurance and motor insurance. In addition to this, full insurance also includes vehicle damage insurance that provides protection if the policyholder causes the damage themselves.
Supplementary insurance:
- All-risk insurance, also called drulleförsäkring - Provides compensation in the event of so-called sudden and unforeseen events. Examples of this are damage to the car interior, such as spilled coffee or paint, as well as refuelling with the wrong fuel.
