Motorcycle

A motorcycle, often abbreviated as a motorcycle, is a motor vehicle with two, three or four wheels. Motorcycles are divided into light and heavy motorcycles; Very light motorcycles can also be referred to as mopeds.

To drive motorcycles with two wheels, a driver's license with A1, A2 or A license is required. Four-wheeled motorcycles instead require a driving licence with a B licence.

A light motorcycle is any of the following:

  • A motorcycle on two or four wheels powered by an internal combustion engine with a displacement of 125cc or more and a power of 11kw
  • An engine other than an internal combustion engine with a power of 11 kW or less
  • A motorcycle on three wheels with a power of 15 kW

A heavy motorcycle is any of the following:

  • A motorcycle on two or four wheels powered by an engine exceeding 125cc and a power exceeding 11kw
  • A motorcycle on three wheels with a power exceeding 15 kw
