Night vision

When driving in the dark, you get what is called night vision, then the pupils dilate as the eye wants more light, which affects visual acuity, even depth perception becomes worse. Poor depth perception can lead to the ability to judge distances not working optimally.

After glare, it may take a minute or two before the night vision works well again, it is therefore important to avoid checking directly at oncoming traffic. Instead, you should fix your gaze obliquely to the right to avoid being dazzled.
