What does the exit rule mean?

In traffic, there are a number of basic rules that lay the foundation for road safety, the exit rule is one of them, here we go through when it applies.

In short, the exit rule means that priority must be given to all traffic when driving out of these areas:

  • Parking space.
  • Property (e.g. house or plot).
  • Paths, property roads and similar roads.
  • Pedestrian street, pedestrian area, hard shoulder or terrain.
  • Pedestrian path or cycle path that has been crossed.
