A double solid line must almost never be crossed. For example, it is common to encounter double solid lines in places where overtaking would pose a greater risk. Common places are hills, curves or other places where overtaking would entail an increased risk.
The situations in which it is permissible to cross a double solid line are, for example, when making a left turn from an exit, or if a vehicle is stationary and blocking the road.
