Glossary
Laws are rules and regulations that the state of a country has established and that all people in the country must follow.
In Sweden, it is the Riksdag that makes our laws. The Riksdag has the legislative power because it represents the Swedish people. The laws passed by the Riksdag should reflect the values of the Swedish people as far as possible. The majority of Swedes thus agree that the laws passed by the Riksdag fulfil an important function in society.
In traffic, there are several laws that are important to follow, such as the Driving License Act, which dictates that you must have a driver's license for certain vehicles, and describes the rules and requirements that exist to get a driver's license for different licenses.
